Samsung Backstage

Building trade engagement with Technology. A brief to create a best-in-class enterprise online training platform, targeted at retailer and operator staff selling Samsung products.

Workforce Training

Samsung Backstage launched in 2015 for UK Retail teams as a leading trade training and engagement technology platform.

I was part of the core project team who pitched the concept to clients and then took on the digital project leadership for the first version of the platform. From senior stakeholder presentations, project scoping and delivery, team building and development partner selection it was a large, complex and exciting project to be part of.

For the e-learning development partner, I secured the services of e-learning specialists Kineo (from my home town in Brighton!) and utilised their best in class LMS system, Totara to bring the platform to life.

The Backstage platform is still very much part of the Samsung UK trade training ecosystem and has been continually redesigned and rebuilt over the last 7 years. All disciplines from my Technology team at Iris have been responsible for revamping training modules, creating more competitions and developing a whole new reward system.

The end result is a fully immersive, unified learning experience to train, engage and grow Trade advocates.

Monthly management reports revealed that the site has seen a 35% increase in page views and an 85% increase in pages viewed per visit year on year.

The data also revealed that the number of active users on Samsung Backstage increased 42% and the number of courses completed increased by 181% for the first month of use.
